In 2011, PSC will again be providing the resources of Recreation Technical Directors (RTD's) to our outdoor Recreational program! Clinics, training sessions and mentoring, under the direction of our Club Head Coach, Tony La Ferrara will be available to the U7-U12 core of recreational teams, and beyond. Our objective is to provide development opportunities not only for the players but also for our volunteer coaches as they share the game with the youth of our community.
The program is in it's 2nd year, and as such, will benefit from our experiences last year. The delivery of the program will not be identical to how it was run last year, but enhancements such as a Goal Keeping RTD will ensure that the 2011 experience will enable all of our recreational members to get the most of their summer experience with the Beautiful Game!

Breanna Van Abbema - After many years of playing recreational and competitive soccer with the Pickering Soccer Club and Team Ontario, Breanna began her coaching career under the mentorship of her first competitive coach, and very quickly came to love it. She brings a unique perspective to coaching, having been exposed to specialty goalkeeper training as well as high level coaching. Her years as a ‘keeper allow her to give players insight as to how goalkeepers think, and how best to beat them; while her years as a player let her give goalkeepers insight on how players think and the best ways to effectively deal with shots and crosses, etc.. She has a passion for soccer, and a desire to help children not only become better soccer players, but have fun while doing so!
