To all Referees, Coaches, Parents and Players of Pickering Soccer Club
In regard to Medical Alert Bracelets
Any individual that is wearing a Medical Alert Bracelet must be allowed to wear the bracelet at all times. A referee may ask a player to tape the band of the bracelet to the wrist/forearm of the player if and only if the official deems it might be a danger to an opponent, teammate or him/herself. However, the medallion on top of the wrist band must never be covered or taped over. This portion of the Medical Alert Bracelet must be visible at all times and easy to access and in view at all times for Doctors and Medical personnel that may be required to apply first aid to the individual.
Most Medical Alert Bracelets worn today have a band that is either made of nylon or rubber with an adjustable band and not the old style of a metal silver chain. This nylon or rubber adjustable bracelet should not have to be taped up, just adjusted.
